Festival
With the festival season in full swing, the festival trend is very popular.
With fringed backs, leather backpacks, denim shorts and floaty, boho styled tops, this festival style is very popular. With festivals coming up all through summer such as Glastonbury and V festival, this look is becoming a favourite of festival goers. This look will be finished off with wellingtons and over the knee socks. The hair for this look will be natural beachy waves with floral headbands. The look is relaxed and comfortable looking and slightly effortless. I love this look. I especially love the look of tanned legs with denim shorts.
Denim Jackets are also a must-have to wear when it gets slightly cooler at night. This one contains Native styled stitching on the back and looks almost tribal.
Large sunglasses are also a must at a festival. I really like this easy, thrown together look and it is easy to create with mix and match outfits that are lightweight to throw in your bag when travelling to your festival.
Neon
Neon is a trend that is quite popular at the moment. Neon is most popular in accessories such as this clutch, pair of sunglasses and necklace. In my opinion the most popular colour is highlighter yellow. This colour can be found on many trendy items of clothing and accessories. I like this trend, I love the colours used and the way they are being used. I love the neon clutch. I love the transparent plastic and the chic shape of the clutch. I also like the fastening on top of the clutch. I think the sunglasses would look slightly more interesting if the studs and the frame were transparent neon or the frame was clear uncoloured plastic. If I were the designer of these sunglasses I would add different details on the corners or the arms of the sunglasses. Different coloured or shaped studs would be used to make the sunglasses a bit more exciting.
This necklace contains highlighter yellow fringing and gunmetal chains and beading and gem details. I like this necklace. Statement necklaces such as this one can accessorise an outfit easily. You can wear this necklace with a plain t-shirt and jeans and you wont need any more jewellery than that. Statement necklaces are chic and are an easy way to decorate an outfit and show your own style, personality and quirkiness.

House of Holland
This geometric dress is from House of Holland's pre-summer 14' collection. I love the colour scheme and the cut and style of the dress. The geometric pattern is very nice and it is symmetrical. The shape of the sleeves are exaggerated and quite puffy. I like the shape of the sleeves and think they look quite summery. I think this is really cute and wearable. The print reminds me of flowers and is slightly indian looking.
Peter Pilotto
These garments are part of Peter Pilotto's pre-summer 14' collection. I love the colours used and the shapes both of the pieces. The prints are geometrical and I think that this makes the fit of the dress look even better because it suits the figure of the model even better. I think these two dresses are very creative whilst still being wearable and fashionable. In my opinion the triangular shapes in the print pointing to the waist work as an optical illusion and make the waist look narrower. My favourite of the two is the black and white piece because I love the modern style and cut of the dress with the simple yet very detailed print.
Alicia Leckie
This garment is part of a collection by Alicia Leckie from De Montfort University. I like the black and white printed dress but I don't like it paired with the black and yellow gingham shirt underneath. In my opinion these two parts of the garment clash and the pattern of the dress would look better with a plain block coloured top or no underneath top at all. I also don't like the bottom of the dress. It looks like a PVC material which i think makes it look cheap and slightly tacky. I think just the chiffon printed material alone would be much better. I do like the shape of the dress and the way it hangs on the model and I do like the black and white print. I also like the way the pattern looks where the dress is slightly gathered at the empire line above the waist.
Abbie Ridle.
This is a garment in a collection from Middlesex graduate fashion student Abbie Ridle. This garment is very futuristic looking. This garment contains bright colours and a print underneath one side of the garment. I like the mix of colours and all of the colours used are clean. The grey mesh over the top half reminds me of armour. In my opinion, the cut of the garment showcases the bright geometric print very well. However, I don't think this garment is very wearable and I don't personally like the shape of this. I think the sci-fi styled garment would be more wearable without the child like shapes on top of the mesh area of the top. Also, if the main colour of the garment was a less bright colour, for example black, it would be less outrageous and would stand out less.
